Warehouse Operations Supervisor

Well-established distribution centre in South Dublin is seeking an experienced Warehouse operations supervisor to join their team. This is a full-time, permanent, hands-on role running Monday to Friday offering daytime hours. However, due to the nature of the position, flexibility is required to meet the demands of the business. You will have proven experience managing a team within a busy warehouse operations environment and a strong understanding of distribution processes.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of warehouse operatives, motivating, and supporting them to achieve and exceed weekly performance targets. You will oversee the daily workflow across key warehouse functions including goods-in, picking, packing, and dispatch, ensuring that customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.

You will monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as pick rates, parcel dispatch volumes, and order accuracy—taking corrective actions where necessary to ensure high operational standards are consistently upheld. As a hands-on supervisor, you will provide on-the-job training to improve team performance, monitor stock levels, and investigate inventory discrepancies in collaboration with the stock control team. You will also work closely with other departments such as transport and customer service to ensure seamless coordination across functions.

As the Warehouse Supervisor, you will also take ownership for overseeing the overall safety and compliance of warehouse operations. This includes ensuring that all staff strictly follows all health and safety procedures. You will monitor daily forklift activity and ensure all material handling equipment (MHE) is properly maintained and operated in line with company policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, dispatch, and returns.
  • Lead and motivate the warehouse team to meet daily productivity targets, fostering a performance-driven work environment.
  • Plan and manage shift schedules, delegating tasks effectively to meet operational demands and ensuring adequate cover across all warehouse functions.
  • Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) such as pick rates, order accuracy, and dispatch times, providing regular updates and reports to management.
  • Deliver training and coaching to both new and existing staff, ensuring all team members are fully compliant with procedures, and supported in their professional development.
  • Promote strict adherence to health and safety regulations, conducting regular safety checks and risk assessments to always maintain a safe working environment.
  • Identify areas for improvement within warehouse processes and lead the implementation of operational changes to enhance efficiency and improve service delivery.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional departments including transport, stock control, and customer service to ensure seamless coordination and communication across the operations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely record-keeping, including equipment maintenance logs, staff performance metrics, and incident reports, in line with company requirements.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within a warehouse environment.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and workflow processes.
  • Excellent team leadership and people management skills.
  • Proficient in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Good understanding of health & safety regulations in a warehouse setting.
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Flexible approach to working hours and shift demands.
  • EU B Driver’s license preferable.
  • Valid manual handling certificate and forklift license (e.g., Counterbalance) desirable.
