Rigid Truck Driver

Join a leading supplier in the building materials industry with a sterling reputation across Ireland. The company is seeking a dedicated Rigid Truck Driver to facilitate the efficient delivery of building materials directly to construction sites. This role is crucial in maintaining the supply chain efficiency and contributing to the success of numerous construction projects in Cork and beyond.

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a rigid truck equipped with a built-in crane, delivering building materials to various construction sites across Cork. The role demands precision and care in transporting goods, as well as skill in manoeuvring and operating the crane for loading and unloading materials. Safety is a priority in every aspect of the operations, with adherence to all road safety and site regulations being paramount.

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a rigid truck and crane for the delivery and handling of building materials.
• Ensure secure loading and unloading of goods to prevent damage and ensure safety at all times.
• Navigate routes efficiently while complying with traffic and transport laws.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries and journeys including times, mileage, and fuel consumption.
• Perform daily safety and maintenance checks on the truck and crane equipment.
• Communicate effectively with the team and customers on delivery times and any potential delays.
• Adhere to all company policies and legal regulations concerning vehicle operation, road safety, and safe work practices.
• Participate in regular training sessions to update driving and operational skills.

Requirements:

• Valid CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).
• Current driver’s licence appropriate for a rigid truck.
• Valid tachograph card.
• Proven experience in operating a truck-mounted crane is highly desirable.
• Excellent navigation and driving skills.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Commitment to safety standards and clean driving record.
• Ability to work independently and handle physical demands of the job.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and job demands.
