e-Commerce Manager
Rapidly growing commercial & retail brand is seeking an experienced and commercially savvy eCommerce Manager to take full ownership of their online trading strategy and digital growth. This is a pivotal position offering genuine influence across the ecommerce lifecycle – from strategy development through to execution – and is ideally suited to an individual currently working agency-side who is ready to make the move in-house for greater ownership and brand impact.
With a robust online presence and ambitious growth targets, the business is seeking someone who can elevate performance across web sales, customer experience, and digital merchandising. Leading a dedicated team of three, the role involves driving digital excellence, refining conversion strategies, and working cross-functionally to ensure cohesive and compelling brand storytelling online. The ideal candidate will bring a data-driven mindset, a deep understanding of ecommerce best practices, and a hands-on approach to testing and optimisation.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a high-performing ecommerce team of three across trading, content, and analytics
- Manage the ecommerce P&L, working closely with finance and senior stakeholders to hit revenue and margin targets
- Own the online trading calendar, driving promotional activity and product launches in alignment with marketing and merchandising
- Analyse website performance, using tools such as GA4 and heatmaps to identify improvements in customer journey and conversion
- Collaborate with UX/UI, digital marketing, and tech teams to deliver site enhancements and optimisation projects
- Coordinate with 3PL partners to ensure seamless logistics, stock availability, and customer service for online orders
- Define and execute A/B testing roadmaps to improve CRO and enhance site usability
- Oversee platform performance and liaise with developers to resolve technical issues or plan new feature rollouts
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging ecommerce tools to maintain market leadership
Requirements:
- Proven experience in an ecommerce-focused role, ideally with a strong grounding from a digital agency background
- Demonstrable success in managing online retail performance and trading strategy within a consumer-focused brand
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring a small team
- Confident with analytics and reporting tools such as Google Analytics, GA4, Shopify, Magento, or similar
- Commercially minded with a keen understanding of digital KPIs and ecommerce P&L management
- Excellent project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including creative, tech, and marketing
- Up-to-date knowledge of ecommerce trends, platform capabilities, and emerging technologies
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
