Warehouse Team Leader

Market Leading Online Retailer is seeking an experienced Warehouse Team Leader to support its afternoon operation. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic business where you will play a key role in leading, motivating and supporting a fast‑paced warehouse team. The ideal candidate is someone with proven supervisory or team‑leader experience in a distribution environment who is also confident providing hands‑on operational support when needed. This role requires a commitment to top-tier performance, strict adherence to Health & Safety procedures and a calm, solution‑focused attitude when facing challenges. A valid Counterbalance forklift licence is essential and Man‑Up forklift experience will be a strong advantage.

You will join a busy warehouse environment with a team of 25, working alongside the current Team Leader as the business adds another leader to support ongoing growth. You’ll play a key role within the leadership team and report directly to the Warehouse Manager. Your focus will be on the smooth running of daily operations—managing schedules, coordinating staff and ensuring a consistent, efficient workflow. Strong leadership and organisational ability will be essential, as the team operates using both Counterbalance and Man‑Up forklifts.

You will oversee a team responsible for handling items such as office supplies, Ring doorbells and various small electronic products, using handheld scanners and a company-wide warehouse management system. Your ability to guide, coach and support your team will be central to maintaining high standards and driving continuous improvement. You’ll collaborate closely with excellent colleagues both on-site and across their broader European network.

Responsibilities:

• Manage daily planning, task allocation and workflow to ensure efficient, on‑time operations.
• Maintain high levels of productivity, accuracy and order fulfilment quality.
• Enforce and promote strict Health & Safety standards across all warehouse activities.
• Provide hands‑on operational support during peak periods.
• Coach, mentor and develop team members to build capability and maintain strong performance.
• Oversee activities across both Counterbalance and Man‑Up forklift areas and coordinate with upstairs picking teams.
• Use handheld scanners and internal systems to manage and track stock accurately.
• Lead or contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency and performance.
• Work closely with the Warehouse Manager and engage with colleagues across the wider European network.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Warehouse Team Leader or Supervisor in a high‑volume environment.
• Valid Counterbalance forklift licence (essential).
• Experience with Man‑Up forklifts (advantageous).
• Strong people‑management, communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to coach, motivate and develop team members.
• A proactive, solutions‑focused approach with strong attention to detail.
• Comfortable providing hands‑on support when required.
• Experience using handheld scanners and warehouse management systems.
• Commitment to maintaining high performance standards and safe working practices.
