Counterbalance Forklift Driver

 

Thriving distributor of specialist paints and protective coatings is seeking a dedicated Counterbalance Forklift Driver to join their busy warehouse team. This company is recognised for its strong operational performance, high safety standards and commitment to delivering reliable, industry-leading products. 

This is a Monday to Friday position within a structured, supportive environment where teamwork, accuracy and efficiency are central to daily operations. Candidates must hold a valid Counterbalance Forklift licence and current Manual Handling Certificate. A Bendi licence is an advantage but not essential.

You will be responsible for operating the counterbalance forklift to move, organise and store stock safely. Your daily tasks will include receiving goods, preparing orders for despatch, assembling pallets and maintaining accurate inventory records using warehouse systems. Ensuring that stock is handled correctly and stored in the right areas will be an important part of the role.

You will help maintain a smooth workflow, prevent delays and ensure all orders are completed accurately and on time. You will also play a vital role in keeping the warehouse safe and tidy by maintaining clear aisles, reporting any damaged inventory and following all site safety procedures.

 

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate the counterbalance forklift to move, load and store products across the warehouse.
  • Receive, check and correctly store incoming goods to maintain accurate stock levels.
  • Pick, pack and prepare customer orders for dispatch with strong attention to accuracy.
  • Build, wrap and secure pallets to meet internal safety and quality standards.
  • Use handheld scanners or warehouse systems to update stock records and track product movement.
  • Collaborate with the warehouse team to support efficient workflow and prevent operational delays.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment, keeping aisles clear and reporting any damaged stock.

 

Requirements

  • Valid Counterbalance Forklift licence.
  • Up-to-date Manual Handling Certificate.
  • Bendi licence is desirable but not required.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics setting is beneficial.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work accurately and efficiently.
  • Good communication skills and a dependable, team-oriented approach.
  • Commitment to following site safety procedures and maintaining a tidy workspace.
