Counterbalance Forklift Operator
Counterbalance Forklift Operator required for a market-leading distribution company within the paint and coatings sector. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing, fast-paced operation with strong standards and a reputation for quality. All candidates must hold a valid counterbalance forklift licence and a current manual handling certificate, along with proven experience in warehouse operations and a solid understanding of safe, efficient stock handling.
You’ll be at the heart of the warehouse, keeping everything moving. From unloading deliveries and checking stock to placing it exactly where it needs to be, you’ll make sure the operation runs like clockwork. You’ll pick and dispatch orders with speed and accuracy, stay on top of stock levels and spot any issues before they become problems. You’ll take pride in keeping the space clean, organised and safe—setting the standard for how a high-performing warehouse should run.
You’ll be a key support for customers, stepping in to assist with orders, answer queries and help preparation when needed. You’ll work safely and confidently with all materials, act fast when issues arise and help maintain a smooth, efficient operation day in, day out. Working closely with your team, suppliers and customers, you’ll play a vital role in delivering a seamless, top-class service every time.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and check deliveries and store stock in the correct location
- Pick, pack and prepare orders for dispatch
- Load and unload vehicles using forklift equipment
- Keep the warehouse clean, organised and safe
- Monitor stock and report any discrepancies or damages
- Rotate and store stock correctly
- Follow all health and safety procedures
- Support order fulfilment and daily warehouse tasks
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or similar environment
- Valid counterbalance forklift licence
- Manual handling experience and awareness
- Good attention to detail and organisation skills
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Basic IT skills (e.g. stock systems, Microsoft Office)
- Good communication skills and fluent English
- Flexibility to work required hours and follow operational needs
