Salary: €16 – €17 per hour

Warehouse & Yard Operative

Warehouse & Yard Operative required for an industrial materials supplier based in Palmerstown. This is a practical, hands-on role working within a small, experienced team, supporting both warehouse and yard activities in a busy, well-run operation.

The business supplies materials to customers nationwide and operates from a structured warehouse and yard facility. This role is key to ensuring products are received, stored, handled, and dispatched efficiently, with a strong focus on safety and accuracy when working with steel products.

You will carry out manual handling duties, store incoming stock, pick customer orders, and load and unload materials using forklift equipment. You will work closely with a team of 4–5 staff, report directly to management, and play an active part in keeping daily operations running smoothly. A strong work ethic, good safety awareness, and a willingness to support across all areas of the warehouse and yard are essential.

Responsibilities:

• Handle heavy lifting and manual movement of steel products safely
• Store stock correctly and keep all storage areas organised
• Pick and prepare customer orders accurately for dispatch
• Operate forklifts, including counterbalance and side loader
• Load and unload incoming and outgoing deliveries
• Cut steel to required sizes (full training provided)
• Support general warehouse and yard duties as needed
• Work as part of the team to keep operations running efficiently
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised workspace
• Follow all health and safety procedures at all times

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a warehouse or yard environment
• Valid manual handling certificate
• Forklift experience (counterbalance essential; side loader an advantage)
• Ability to carry out heavy manual handling duties
• Willingness to learn steel cutting and band saw operation
• Strong attention to health and safety
• Reliable, punctual and team-oriented attitude
• Ability to work in a practical, hands-on role
