Forklift Yard Operative

Counterbalance Forklift Yard Operative required to join a well-established industrial materials supplier based in Dublin 20. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity offering long-term stability within a busy yard and warehouse environment. All candidates must hold a valid, in-date Counterbalance forklift licence and Manual Handling Certificate. Experience within a builder’s providers, construction supplies, or similar heavy materials environment is strongly preferred.

The company supplies a wide range of construction and industrial materials nationwide and operates across a fast-paced yard and warehouse setting. This position plays a key role in supporting daily operations, requiring a hands-on approach and strong awareness of health and safety when handling bulky and heavy goods in both indoor and outdoor environments.

You will be responsible for the safe and efficient loading and unloading of trucks using a counterbalance forklift, along with picking orders from both yard and warehouse locations. The role involves working daily with long, heavy materials and requires confidence operating machinery in a busy yard environment.

You will also be involved in cutting materials to size using a band saw and may operate a side loader forklift where required. Previous experience using a side loader or band saw is highly desirable and will be a significant advantage for candidates applying to this role.

Responsibilities:

• Loading and unloading trucks using a counterbalance forklift
• Handling and moving long and heavy construction materials safely
• Picking and preparing orders from both yard and warehouse locations
• Operating a side loader forklift (where experience applies)
• Cutting materials using a band saw to required specifications
• Supporting day-to-day operations in a busy yard environment
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working area

Requirements:

• Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence (in date) – essential
• Manual Handling Certificate (in date) – essential
• Proven experience in a yard, warehouse, or industrial environment
• Experience working with construction materials, builder’s providers, or similar setting preferred
• Experience operating a side loader forklift (desirable)
• Experience using a band saw or similar cutting equipment (highly advantageous)
• Ability to work in a physically demanding role, indoors and outdoors
• Strong understanding of health and safety practices
