Logistics Customer Service Coordinator

Opportunity for an experienced and customer-focused Logistics Customer Service Coordinator to join a busy logistics operation. This is a varied role combining customer service, order management, purchase order (PO) processing and day-to-day coordination with customers and internal teams. The successful candidate will play an important part in ensuring customer requirements are handled efficiently and that orders progress smoothly from initial request through to delivery.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in logistics, transport, warehousing, supply chain or customer service and will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change throughout the day. Strong communication skills are essential, as the position involves regular contact with customers regarding orders, deliveries and service queries. A good standard of spoken and written English is required to communicate professionally with customers, suppliers and colleagues. This role would suit someone who is organised, accurate and confident dealing with customers while managing several administrative tasks at the same time.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a professional and efficient customer service experience, acting as a key point of contact for customer queries.
  • Raise and process purchase orders (POs) accurately and ensure all relevant information is entered correctly into internal systems.
  • Manage customer orders from receipt through to completion, keeping customers informed of progress where required.
  • Liaise with customers regarding deliveries, lead times and general logistics queries.
  • Work closely with warehouse, transport and operations teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer emails and telephone enquiries.
  • Investigate delivery or order issues and work with the relevant departments to resolve problems efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate customer, order and purchasing information on internal systems.
  • Monitor outstanding orders and follow up on any delays or discrepancies.
  • Ensure documentation relating to orders, deliveries and purchase orders is complete and accurate.
  • Build positive working relationships with customers and provide a consistently high level of service.
  • Communicate any potential delays or operational issues to customers in a timely manner.
  • Support the wider logistics and customer service team with general administration and day-to-day operational requirements.
  • Assist with resolving customer complaints and ensure issues are followed through to an appropriate resolution.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure company procedures are followed at all times.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a customer service, logistics, transport, warehouse, supply chain or order management environment is highly desirable.
  • Experience raising and processing purchase orders (POs) would be an advantage.
  • A good standard of written and spoken English is essential.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, with the confidence to deal directly with customers by telephone and email.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple orders, queries and priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy when entering information and processing documentation.
  • Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced logistics environment.
  • Good computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel.
  • Previous experience using ERP, warehouse, transport or order management systems would be beneficial.
  • A proactive approach to solving problems and dealing with customer queries.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider operations team.
  • Reliable, professional and customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to work Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm.
