You will join the head office team as a commercially driven buyer. This pivotal role within the expanding group involves shaping and managing product categories across a network of multiple locations. Combining strong expertise with proven buying experience, you’ll bring a deep understanding of customer needs, product performance and supplier relationships. Your focus will be on ensuring the product offering remains competitive and customer focused.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute category strategies across key areas.
- Analyse sales data and market trends to optimise product ranges, pricing and promotional activity.
- Identify emerging product opportunities and drive range innovation to support commercial growth.
- Negotiate supplier agreements, trading terms and promotional plans to achieve margin and sales targets.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with suppliers, wholesalers and brand owners.
- Collaborate with suppliers on seasonal activity, in-store promotions and marketing campaigns.
- Work closely with operations teams to ensure effective implementation of planograms, promotions and product launches.
- Maintain consistent execution of category standards across all store locations.
- Monitor category performance, stock levels and profitability through regular reporting and analysis.
Requirements
- Experience in procurement
- Proven track record in managing product ranges and negotiating supplier agreements.
- Strong commercial acumen and analytical mindset, complemented by excellent negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
- High attention to detail with strong organisational skills.
- Genuine passion for enhancing customer happiness.
