You will be joining a thriving business that has grown from a small entrepreneurial venture into a determined eCommerce organisation known for its strong commitment to service and reliability. In this role you will take on a hands on position working closely with the Finance Director to support the next phase of the company’s growth. You will be involved in strategic planning and play an important part in helping the business optimise revenue and strengthen performance.
You will be responsible for delivering accurate purchasing forecasts and maintaining optimal stock levels. You will also provide clear commercial insight that helps guide trading decisions while working closely with both the buying team and the finance team to ensure strong margin performance.
This is a hybrid role where you will spend three days working in the heart of Dublin City Centre and two days working from home.
Responsibilities
- Work with finance and buying to shape sales and margin targets for upcoming periods.
- Deliver margin evaluations by category, supplier and promotional activity.
- Track cost movements, profitability levers and product mix shifts.
- Create clear commercial reporting comparing actuals to budget and forecast.
- Collaborate with buyers to build effective replenishment models using cover weeks, ROS trends and seasonal demand.
- Manage stock flow through the open‑to‑buy process, balancing cash protection with sales potential.
- Oversee slow‑moving and surplus inventory, proposing timely corrective actions.
- Lead OOS reporting and root‑cause reviews to minimise lost sales.
- Assess promotional results including sales uplift and margin impact.
- Provide insights that inform future promotional strategies and protect margin.
- Monitor promotional performance across suppliers, categories and product groups.
- Support buyers with price negotiations, PO planning and supplier management.
- Partner closely with finance to ensure intake aligns with open‑to‑buy budgets.
- Share insights and reporting with merchandising, supply chain and trading teams to support decision‑making.
- Elevate financial precision by delivering strong margins, sharpening forecast accuracy, keeping intake tight to OTB and producing fast, insight‑driven reporting.
Requirements
- Exceptional analytical and numerical ability, confident working with large and complex data sets.
- Proficient in Excel and/or planning systems.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to shape and influence key decisions.
- Highly organised, detail‑driven and thorough in execution.
- Thrives in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience in demand planning, merchandising or supply chain analytics, within FMCG or retail
- Familiarity with open‑to‑buy frameworks or stock planning tools.
