Warehouse Team Leader

Rapidly expanding e-commerce business is seeking an experienced and capable Warehouse Team Leader to support its busy, fast‑paced warehouse operation. Candidates must have supervisory or team‑leader experience in a high‑volume distribution environment and be comfortable stepping in with hands‑on support when required. If you’re a proactive problem‑solver who leads people well and keeps operations running safely and efficiently, we’d love to hear from you. A valid Counterbalance forklift licence is essential, and experience operating a Man‑Up forklift will be a strong advantage.

You will step into a fast‑moving warehouse operation of 25 staff, working alongside an existing Team Leader as they recruit an additional leader to strengthen the team. In this role, you will become part of the leadership structure and report directly to the Warehouse Manager. You will take an active role in the day‑to‑day running of the warehouse, overseeing planning, team coordination and maintaining a steady and efficient workflow. Strong people‑management and organisational skills will be crucial in keeping operations on track, with teams using both Counterbalance and Man‑Up forklifts.

You will lead a team handling products such as Office stationery, Ring doorbells and other small electronics, working with handheld scanners and a group‑wide warehouse management system. Effective leadership will be essential as you coach, support and guide your team while driving continuous improvement across the operation. You will be responsible for maintaining high performance standards, ensuring strict Health & Safety compliance, and taking a calm, professional approach when challenges arise. As part of a fast‑expanding organisation, you will work closely with great colleagues locally and across their wider European network.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily planning, task allocation and workflow to ensure smooth, efficient operations.
  • Maintain high levels of productivity, accuracy and on‑time order fulfilment.
  • Ensure strict compliance with Health & Safety procedures across all operational areas.
  • Provide hands‑on support during busy periods or when operational demands require it.
  • Coach, train and develop team members to build capability and maintain strong performance.
  • Monitor activity across both Counterbalance and Man‑Up forklift areas and coordinate effectively with upstairs picking teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, processes and team performance.
  • Use handheld scanners and internal systems to manage and track stock accurately.
  • Work closely with the Warehouse Manager and wider European team to support operational goals and business growth.

Requirements

  • Lead, support and motivate a warehouse team of 25 staff alongside the existing Team Leader.
  • Oversee daily workflow, task allocation and operational planning to ensure smooth running of the warehouse.
  • Maintain high levels of productivity, accuracy and service quality across all warehouse activities.
  • Ensure strict compliance with Health & Safety procedures and promote safe working practices at all times.
  • Provide hands‑on operational support during peak periods or when required.
  • Coach, train and develop team members to build capability and maintain strong performance standards.
  • Coordinate operations across areas using Counterbalance and Man‑Up forklifts and upstairs picking zones without forklift access.
  • Monitor stock movement using handheld scanners and internal systems to maintain accuracy and traceability.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Warehouse Manager and collaborate with colleagues across the wider European network.
