Counterbalance Forklift Operator
Counterbalance Forklift Operator is required for a specialist distributor based in Dublin 12. The company operates a busy warehouse supplying specialist materials to customers nationwide and is seeking an experienced operator to join the warehouse team on a permanent, full‑time basis.
The role is based in the warehouse and is hands‑on throughout the day. Applicants must hold a valid counterbalance forklift licence and valid in-date manual handling certificate. Experience operating a reach forklift or overhead crane equipment is desirable. Previous warehouse experience and a strong understanding of safe working practices are essential.
You will be responsible for receiving and unloading deliveries using the counterbalance forklift. The working day starts at 8am and involves separating and preparing outbound deliveries for couriers, customer collections and local deliveries.
You will pick, pack and check orders, load outbound deliveries, operate the counterbalance forklift as required and carry out routine equipment checks. You will manage your own section of the warehouse, ensure paperwork is accurate and work alongside other warehouse teams and the sales office to keep orders moving.
Responsibilities:
- Receiving, unloading and dispatching inbound and outbound warehouse stock
- Operating a counterbalance forklift as part of daily operations
- Using overhead crane equipment to assist with unloading and stock handling
- Picking, packing and preparing orders for courier, collection and local delivery
- Separating, loading and staging outbound deliveries correctly
- Checking paperwork and ensuring order and delivery accuracy
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe warehouse environment
Requirements:
- Valid counterbalance forklift licence (essential)
- Valid in-date Manual Handling certificate
- Reach forklift licence or experience desirable, not essential
- Previous experience in a warehouse or stores role
- Valid manual handling certificate
- Good attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Reliable, proactive and safety‑focused attitude
