Sales Support Assistant
Heavy-duty industrial supplier is seeking a highly organised and customer-focused Sales Support Assistant to join their business. This opportunity is ideal for someone with previous experience in customer service, sales administration or order processing who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering excellent support to both customers and internal teams.
Working closely with the wider sales and operations function, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of sales support activities. The position will involve managing customer queries, processing quotations and orders accurately, coordinating with internal departments and maintaining a high level of customer service throughout the sales cycle. This is an excellent opportunity for an adaptable and detail-oriented individual who is looking to further develop experience within a growing technical environment.
The role offers exposure to a broad range of operational and customer-facing responsibilities and would suit someone who enjoys problem solving, multitasking and working collaboratively with colleagues across multiple departments. Responsibilities
- Respond professionally and efficiently to incoming customer and account manager phone calls and emails
- Handle customer enquiries relating to pricing, product availability, specifications, order updates, and general support
- Process quotations and sales orders accurately using internal systems
- Coordinate with warehouse, purchasing, and production teams to ensure smooth order fulfilment
- Support troubleshooting and resolution of customer order queries
- Maintain accurate customer, quotation and order records within company systems
- Prepare order confirmations and supporting documentation where required
- Assist the wider sales team with day-to-day administrative tasks
- Ensure all customer interactions meet internal service and quality standards
- Support accurate data entry and reporting processes
- Participate in team handovers and collaborate effectively with colleagues during the contract period
- Contribute to maintaining a professional and positive customer experience at all times
Requirements
- Previous experience in a customer service, sales support, sales administration, or order processing role
- Strong communication skills with a professional and courteous telephone manner
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment
- Comfortable working with internal systems, databases, ERP or CRM platforms
- Good problem-solving ability and proactive approach to tasks
- Strong team-working skills and willingness to support colleagues
- Technical aptitude or an interest in engineering, industrial, or technical products would be advantageous
- Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly
- Experience within engineering, manufacturing, technical supply, or industrial sectors would be beneficial but not essential
- Positive, adaptable, and customer-focused attitude
