The Trade Counter Representative role involves engaging directly with customers, assisting them with their product needs, and ensuring they receive the best possible service. This position requires someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of handling a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the trade counter, managing stock, and processing sales transactions efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and provide excellent customer service at the trade counter.
- Assist customers with product selection and provide product information.
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain stock levels and ensure the trade counter is well-organised.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure timely stock replenishment.
- Promote and upsell products to meet sales targets.
- Keep up-to-date with product knowledge and industry trends.
- Prepare and process quotations for trade customers.
- Manage customer accounts and build strong customer relationships.
- Participate in regular sales meetings and training sessions.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a sales or customer service role, preferably within the construction industry..
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organisational skills.
- Proficiency in using sales software and other related computer applications.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and ability to think on your feet.
- Basic knowledge of the products sold at the trade counter is an advantage.
- Flexibility to work one weekend per month
- Knowledge of construction materials would be a significant plus.
