Hours: Week 1: Monday – Friday, 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM
Week 2: Monday – Saturday, 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM (Thursday off)

Transport Supervisor

Well-established transport and logistics company in Little Island, Cork, is seeking an experienced Transport Supervisor to oversee daily transport operations. This is an exciting opportunity for an organised and driven professional to play a key role in ensuring smooth logistics and operational efficiency. The role demands strong leadership, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day transport operations, ensuring schedules and deliveries run efficiently.
  • Monitor driver performance and ensure compliance with company policies and transport regulations.
  • Coordinate vehicle maintenance schedules to minimise downtime and ensure fleet reliability.
  • Manage transport planning and routing for maximum efficiency.
  • Act as the first point of contact for drivers, handling queries and resolving operational issues.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as road transport legislation.
  • Liaise with customers and internal teams to provide accurate delivery updates and resolve service issues.
  • Maintain accurate records, including driver hours, fuel usage, and delivery documentation.
  • Lead and motivate the transport team to achieve high performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a transport supervisor, logistics coordinator, or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of transport regulations, compliance, and best practices.
  • Experience managing drivers, schedules, and vehicle maintenance.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Proficiency in transport management software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • A valid CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Flexibility to work a rotating shift pattern as outlined.
