Fantastic opportunity has opened for a Warehouse Team Leader to join a well-established wholesale business operating in the retail and e-commerce logistics sector. This role is ideal for a hands-on and experienced professional who is ready to step into a leadership position and contribute to long-term success. The company is seeking someone who can build strong working relationships at all levels of the organisation and demonstrate the flexibility needed to adapt to evolving business needs.
As Warehouse Team Leader, you will report directly to the Logistics Manager and lead a team of General Operatives. You will be responsible for the smooth and efficient running of daily warehouse operations, including managing the Goods In department, overseeing the accurate dispatch of products to fulfil customer orders, and ensuring that inventory processes are followed and maintained to a high standard.
In addition to operational oversight, you will be accountable for monitoring team productivity, setting clear expectations, and ensuring that performance targets are consistently met. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires excellent organisational skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to motivate and guide your team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Responsibilities:
- Track and evaluate daily and real-time performance to ensure service levels and key performance indicators (KPIs) are consistently achieved.
- Maintain accurate inventory by conducting monthly physical counts, reconciling variances, and updating system records.
- Coordinate with suppliers and customers to ensure efficient and timely loading and unloading operations.
- Ensure all operational functions and processes are conducted in line with company policies and procedures.
- Identify opportunities for system improvements and provide actionable recommendations.
- Contribute to operational planning and reviews, driving productivity while maintaining high-quality performance standards.
- Collaborate closely with other departments and head office teams to effectively meet customer needs.
Requirements:
- Proven experience leading a team in a warehouse environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Exceptional organisational skills with full flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Valid Manual Handling Certificate.
- Counterbalance forklift licence required.
