Buyer

 

A leading Dublin-based textiles supplier to department store chains across Ireland and the UK is seeking a Buyer. This full-time role offers a unique opportunity to work across design, buying, and merchandising in a fast-paced, creative environment.

This full-time role involves designing and buying, from concept to bulk production. You'll source from Asia and India, attend trade shows in Europe, and support concessions across Ireland and the UK, you must be willing to travel globally several times a year. Ideally you should have a fashion design degree or background, strong buying experience, technical garment knowledge, and proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Excel. You’ll need to be organized, adaptable, confident working both independently and in a fast-paced team.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop commercial collections.
  • Manage the full product lifecycle from concept to bulk production
  • Source materials and products from the Asia and India; travel required twice yearly
  • Attend European trade shows several times a year to stay ahead of trends
  • Collaborate with concessions across Ireland and the UK to support supply needs
  • Maintain constant communication with customers and suppliers to ensure alignment and quality

 

Requirements

  • Degree or background in Fashion Design
  • Proven experience in both fashion design and buying
  • Strong understanding of mid-market retail fashion and commercial range development
  • Excellent technical garment knowledge and quality control awareness
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Excel, and general PC skills
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Education, bachelors preferred
