General operative

 Reputable workplace essentials supplier is seeking a dependable and driven General Operative to join their growing team. They are looking for someone who brings energy, initiative and a strong work ethic to a fast‑paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will be proactive, confident with manual handling and ready to take ownership of their tasks. A valid Counterbalance licence is essential, enabling you to play a key role in supporting smooth, efficient day‑to‑day warehouse operations.

You will thrive in a fast‑paced warehouse environment, taking ownership of manual handling duties while operating the Counterbalance forklift with confidence, safety and efficiency. You will play an active role in the flow of goods - assisting with the movement, loading, unloading and organisation of stock to keep operations running smoothly. You will maintain exceptional accuracy in every task while upholding the highest standards of health and safety. You will also support wider warehouse operations as needed, contributing to a clean, well‑organised and highly efficient workspace.

 

Responsibilities

  • Picking and preparing orders accurately for dispatch
  • Wrapping and securing pallets to ensure safe transport
  • Loading, unloading, and moving stock throughout the warehouse
  • Operating the Counterbalance forklift safely and efficiently
  • Completing manual handling tasks in line with safety procedures
  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment
  • Assisting with general warehouse duties as required

 

Requirements

  • Valid Counterbalance forklift licence
  • Previous manual handling experience
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced warehouse environment
  • Good level of physical fitness for lifting, moving, and general warehouse tasks
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all work
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team
  • Good communication skills and a positive, can‑do attitude
  • Flexibility to support various warehouse duties as needed
