Counterbalance Forklift Driver
A well‑established paint and coatings distributor, recognised for supplying high‑quality products to commercial, industrial and retail customers nationwide, is seeking a Counterbalance Forklift Driver to join their busy, fast‑paced warehouse team. With a strong commitment to excellent service, rapid delivery and deep industry expertise, the company continues to expand its warehouse and logistics operations. You will be joining a supportive team in a dynamic environment where safety, teamwork and reliability are top priorities. The successful candidate must hold a valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence and a Manual Handling Certificate. A Bendi licence is an advantage but not essential.
You will play a key role at the heart of a thriving, fast‑moving warehouse operation. Each day brings variety as you navigate the floor with confidence, keeping stock flowing smoothly and ensuring customers receive their orders on time. You will operate a counterbalance forklift with precision, support your teammates during peak periods and help maintain the high standards this distributor is known for.
In this role, you will manage the safe and efficient movement of stock across the warehouse, including unloading goods from racking with accuracy. You will support the full put‑away process, ensuring products are stored correctly and reorganising mixed pallets when necessary so they are ready for dispatch. You will also assist with scanning, checking and recording stock through handheld devices to maintain accurate, up‑to‑date inventory. You’ll thrive in an environment where your pace, accuracy and safety‑first mindset truly matter.
Responsibilities:
- Operate a counterbalance forklift safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload pallets, drums and paint products from vehicles.
- Pick, pack and prepare orders for dispatch.
- Move stock within the warehouse and maintain accurate inventory flow.
- Follow all health & safety and hazardous materials handling procedures.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as required.
- Keep work areas clean, organised and compliant with company standards.
Requirements:
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence
- Manual Handling Certificate
- Bendi licence advantageous but not essential
- Previous experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution environment
- Confident in working in a fast‑paced setting with high attention to safety
- Ability to follow set processes for putaway, stock movement and dispatch
- Comfortable using handheld scanners or warehouse management systems
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate inventory
- Reliable, punctual and able to work well as part of a team
- Physically able to lift, move and handle products as required
