Specialist truck and trailers company are seeking a Parts Coordinator to bring structure, efficiency and momentum to their parts department. This is a hands‑on position suited to someone with solid experience in a heavy‑goods workshop or parts operation, ideally within a vehicle parts environment where pace and precision matter.
You will be organised, proactive and confident working in a busy heavy‑duty garage. You’ll balance physical demands with essential admin tasks, communicate clearly with the garage team and business owners, while keeping things moving with minimal supervision. A counterbalance forklift and manual handling certificate are required, along with a practical mindset and the ability to get up to speed quickly.
You will take full command of the parts area, keeping it organised, efficient and constantly in motion within a demanding, hands‑on environment. This is a very physical role, involving daily lifting, moving and handling of heavy parts, while operating a counterbalance forklift. You’ll oversee each inbound delivery from arrival to storage and maintain accurate stock and data records through regular computer input. You’ll work independently, think quickly and ensure the workshop always has the parts it needs. You will play an important role in improving the layout, organisation and overall flow of the parts operation, helping the business run smoother and more efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Organise and maintain the garage’s parts area to ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations.
- Handle inbound deliveries, including checking, recording, sorting, and safely storing all parts.
- Manage stock levels, conduct regular inventory checks and maintain accurate data through computer input.
- Operate a counterbalance forklift as required and follow all manual‑handling procedures.
- Assist the garage team by ensuring the right parts are available when needed.
- Communicate effectively with the business owners and workshop staff to support workflow.
- Contribute to improving the layout, organisation and efficiency of the parts department.
- Work independently and proactively to keep the parts operation running at pace.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a heavy‑goods workshop, garage, or vehicle‑parts operation.
- Strong understanding of parts handling, storage, and stock control.
- Counterbalance forklift certificate (essential).
- Manual handling training (essential).
- Comfortable with very physical work, including lifting and moving heavy parts daily.
- Competent with basic computer systems for stock tracking and data input.
- Ability to work independently, stay organised, and manage a busy workload.
- Clear and confident communication skills for liaising with owners and workshop staff.
- Practical, reliable and able to adapt quickly in a fast‑paced environment.
- Must have own transport.
