Yard Operative

 

Yard Operative (Forklift) required to join a leading industrial supply company based in Dublin 20. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity offering long-term stability within a busy and supportive team environment. All candidates must hold a valid Manual Handling Certificate and in-date Counterbalance forklift licence. Experience operating a side loader forklift and using a band saw is highly advantageous, though training will be provided.

 

The company supplies industrial materials nationwide and operates across both a busy yard and warehouse environment. This position plays a key role in the day-to-day running of operations, ensuring goods are handled safely, efficiently and in line with operational requirements.

 

You will be responsible for handling heavy building materials, picking orders from both warehouse and outdoor yard locations, in addition to loading and unloading trucks using both counterbalance and side loader forklifts. The role also involves cutting materials to specific sizes using a band saw.

 

You will work closely with a small team of approximately four to five colleagues, reporting directly to management while contributing to the smooth running of daily operations. Previous experience working within a builder’s providers, construction environment, or similar industrial setting would be highly beneficial, particularly if combined with experience using a band saw or other relevant machinery.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

• Loading and unloading trucks using counterbalance and side loader forklifts
• Handling and moving heavy building materials safely
• Picking orders from both warehouse and outdoor yard locations
• Cutting materials to required sizes using a band saw
• Supporting the day-to-day operations within a busy yard and warehouse
• Working closely with a small team to ensure efficient order fulfilment
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment

 

 

Requirements:

 

• Valid Manual Handling Certificate
• In-date Counterbalance forklift licence (essential)
• Previous experience in a warehouse, yard, or industrial environment
• Experience operating a side loader forklift (desirable)
• Experience using a band saw or similar machinery (preferred)
• Background in builder’s providers, construction, or related industry is beneficial
• Ability to handle heavy materials and work both indoors and outdoors
• Strong focus on health and safety and ability to work as part of a team
