Opportunity to join Irelands leading ship agencies, supporting vessels across Irland and Northern Ireland in sectors including tanker, dry bulk, cruise, ferry, military and offshore operations.

 

We are currently seeking a proactive and organised Ships Agent to join our Dublin team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in logistics, shipping, maritime, transport or port operations who is looking to build a long-term career in unique and fast paced industry. Once fully trained and participating in the shift roster, employees can expect additional earnings of approximately €6,000 to €10,000 per annum through shift-related payments. Salary review following successful completion of the six-month probation period.

 

Based in Dublin and covering the ports of Dublin, Dún Laoghaire, Drogheda, Carlingford, and Rosslare you will play a key role in ensuring vessels receive seamless support before during and after every prt call. As a Ships Agent you will be the vital link between vessel operators, port authorities, service providers and crew members. You will coordinate port visits from start to finish, ensuring every detail is managed efficiently and professionally.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Boarding vessels and liaising directly with Masters and crew.
  • Coordinating vessel arrivals and departures with Port Authorities.
  • Managing customs, immigration, and regulatory documentation.
  • Organising crew changes, accommodation, transport, and welfare services.
  • Arranging vessel services including fuel deliveries, fresh water, waste disposal, and repairs.
  • Preparing and maintaining operational and cargo documentation.
  • Providing real-time updates to shipowners, charterers, and stakeholders.
  • Monitoring port costs and ensuring supplier invoices are accurate.
  • Travelling between ports and client locations as operational requirements dictate.
  • Managing changing priorities and responding effectively to time-critical situations.

 

Requirements

  • Experience within shipping, logistics, transport, freight forwarding, maritime or port operations.
  • Previous Ships Agent experience is highly desirable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships with clients, vessel crews and port authorities.
  •  Fluent spoken and written English
  •   A full, clean driving licence and willingness to travel between ports as required.
  •  Flexibility to participate in a rotating roster that includes evenings, weekends, and occasional night shifts.
  •  The ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a team environment.
