Exceptional opportunity for a seasoned Senior Procurement Manager in the construction industry, based in Cork. This role is perfect for an individual who thrives in a dynamic environment, combining on-site responsibilities with strategic sales and stakeholder management.
In this role, you will be instrumental in leading procurement activities within a construction setting. You will not only be managing the procurement process but also actively involved in sales and fostering relationships with suppliers and customers while keeping the team motivated. Your expertise will help in driving the strategic procurement goals, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness in procurement processes while maintaining the highest standards of quality and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies tailored for construction projects, ensuring they align with organisational goals and project timelines.
- Manage supplier relationships, negotiating contracts and prices, while maintaining a balance of quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with project teams on-site, providing procurement expertise and support.
- Oversee the procurement cycle, from sourcing to order fulfilment and supplier performance evaluation.
- Engage in sales activities, identifying and capitalising on market opportunities to drive business growth.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with both suppliers and customers, ensuring a seamless supply chain and customer satisfaction.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Experience in procurement, specifically in the construction industry .
- Proven track record in managing procurement processes and supplier relationships.
- Solid background in sales and stakeholder management.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
