The position requires excellent coordination skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
The role involves handling goods, loading and unloading vehicles, and ensuring the smooth movement of stock within the warehouse. You will have previous experience working in a busy warehouse and be comfortable operating a counterbalance forklift truck safely and efficiently. While gantry crane experience is not essential, it would provide a valuable skill set to contribute further to warehouse operations.
Responsibilities:
- Operate a counterbalance forklift to load, unload, and move stock within the warehouse.
- Handle goods safely, ensuring they are stored correctly and transported without damage.
- Conduct daily vehicle and equipment checks to ensure all machinery operates effectively.
- Assist with stock control, inventory management, and ensuring warehouse efficiency.
- Work collaboratively with the wider warehouse team to meet deadlines and operational targets.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
- Operate a gantry crane (if experienced) for heavy lifting and movement of materials.
- Support general warehouse duties, including picking, packing, and order fulfilment.
Requirements:
- Valid counterbalance forklift licence is essential.
- Previous experience working in a warehouse environment.
- Gantry crane experience is a strong advantage but not essential.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high safety standards.
- Physically fit and able to handle manual handling tasks.
