Purchasing Executive
Thriving business in the heavy machinery industry is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Executive to join its on-site team in North Dublin. This permanent role provides an exciting opportunity to be part of a highly collaborative procurement function, directly sourcing high-value industrial equipment and components from suppliers in China, Europe, and India, The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining smooth supply chain operations and supplier reliability across global markets.
This position is ideal for a purchasing professional looking to develop further within an international supply chain environment. The role will involve negotiating supplier terms, managing international orders, coordinating with internal stakeholders, and maintaining compliance with import/export standards. A background in heavy machinery or complex industrial goods procurement is strongly preferred, along with confidence in dealing with overseas suppliers and logistics coordination.
Responsibilities:
- Source heavy machinery components and equipment from international markets (China, Europe, India)
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and contract terms to support business needs and cost-efficiency
- Manage supplier relationships and performance to ensure high quality and reliability
- Oversee import logistics and compliance, including customs and shipping documentation
- Liaise with engineering and operational teams to confirm technical specifications
- Monitor stock requirements and initiate timely reorders to avoid disruption
- Maintain accurate procurement records and contribute to supplier audits
- Support cost-saving and continuous improvement initiatives within procurement
Requirements:
- Experience in a purchasing or procurement role, ideally involving industrial equipment or heavy machinery
- Demonstrated experience sourcing from international suppliers, particularly in China, Europe and India.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Good understanding of global logistics and import/export procedures
- Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Competent in procurement software and Microsoft Office tools
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
