You will play a role that is key to shaping and executing a category strategy that aligns with business objectives and delivers on financial targets. Responsibilities include range management, such as new product development, promotions, cross-selling, direct-to-customer initiatives and pricing. You will also provide exceptional category insights, analysing total performance against last year and budget.
Responsibilities
- Build strong vendor partnerships and ensure compliance with quality and CSR standards.
- Drive profitability through effective promotional strategies and branding initiatives.
- Monitor product range performance and implement corrective actions when needed.
- Lead new product development in collaboration with merchandising, technical and development teams.
- Review market trends, competitor offerings and identify growth opportunities.
- Assess pricing, margin performance and overall commercial success of the category.
- Develop, issue and analyse tenders to secure competitive bids.
- Work closely with QA, Technical and Marketing teams to deploy branded products within and across categories.
- Deliver annual budgets across EI, JBPS, promotions and retro deals.
Requirements
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in procurement.
- Proven track record of achieving results by applying financial, commercial and procurement expertise to deliver cost savings and improve service quality.
- Proactive problem-solver with a hands-on approach to issue resolution.
- Prepared to travel occasionally to meet business needs
- Skilled in leveraging consumer insights, competitive analysis, pricing strategies, promotional planning and financial evaluation.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office, including Excel skills.
- Expertise in PowerPoint and experience presenting.
- Full, clean driving license required.
