Rigid Driver

Market-leading FMCG distribution company is seeking a dedicated and experienced Rigid Driver to join their team. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who value long-term stability, career growth and a flexible shift pattern. The successful candidate will be professional, organised and take pride in representing a highly respected industry leader while out on the road.

You will begin between 05:30am and 06:30am to complete a daily safety check, which typically takes around 30 minutes. Your vehicle will be pre-loaded and ready for dispatch, with up to 15 multi-drop deliveries scheduled per day. You will be responsible for ensuring safe handling, accurate delivery and exceptional care at each customer location. Once your route is completed, no additional freight will be assigned - when your run is finished, your delivery duties for the day are complete.

If you prefer a later start time, this can be arranged; however, your finish time will adjust accordingly. The weekly schedule operates on a 5-days-out-of-7 rota, which may include working every second weekend.

Previous multi-drop experience is desirable, though newly licensed Rigid Drivers are welcome to apply. All applicants must hold a full, valid Category C licence, an in-date CPC card and a digital tachograph card.

Successful candidates will complete a comprehensive two-week onboarding programme, including shadowing an experienced driver to learn established delivery routes, handheld device training and customer service best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Complete daily vehicle safety checks
  • Carry out up to 15 multi-drop deliveries with care and accuracy
  • Ensure safe handling of goods at every customer location
  • Operate the vehicle in line with road safety and company standards
  • Use handheld devices for delivery confirmation
  • Provide friendly and reliable customer service on each route

Requirements

  • Full, valid Category C licence
  • Up-to-date CPC certification and digital tachograph card
  • Ability to successfully complete a driving assessment
  • Capability to undertake a standard health screening
  • Previous multi-drop experience (advantageous but not essential)
