Trade Counter Specialist

 

Trade Counter Specialist required for a leading Irish provider of building services solutions, supplying high-quality products to the commercial, industrial and residential sectors.

 

With a strong reputation for technical expertise, this organisation supports customers through a combination of extensive stock holding and specialist team knowledge. This role sits within a busy and customer-focused branch, playing a key part in the smooth operation of both the trade counter and collections area.

 

You will be responsible for delivering a high standard of customer service across the trade counter & collections point, ensuring all customer interactions, orders and transactions are handled in a prompt and professional manner. You will engage directly with customers, offering product guidance and ensuring a seamless sales process.

 

You will also contribute to operational efficiency by maintaining stock levels, ensuring all front-of-house areas are organised and presentable and working closely with colleagues to meet customer demand. A strong focus on teamwork and continuous improvement will be key to success in this role.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Provide prompt, friendly and efficient service to customers at the trade counter and collections area
  • Pick, pack and prepare orders for customer collection and occasional delivery
  • Communicate proactively with customers and internal teams regarding order progress
  • Process all sales and returns accurately using the ERP system
  • Replenish stock and maintain accurate stock levels
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping across all customer-facing areas
  • Support stock control activities including cycle counting
  • Keep up to date with product knowledge and provide guidance where required
  • Work collaboratively to support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Adhere to all health, safety and environmental procedures

 

 

Requirements

 

  • Previous experience in a customer-facing, trade counter, or similar role
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • High attention to detail with the ability to complete tasks thoroughly
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative
  • Good computer literacy, with ERP system experience advantageous
  • Knowledge of heating & plumbing or construction sectors is beneficial
  • Strong understanding of health & safety best practices
  • Fluent English with a customer-focused approach
