Hours: Monday-Friday: 08:00-17:00

 

Van Driver/ General Operative

Well-known provider of building materials based in South Dublin is currently seeking a reliable and experienced Van Driver/General Operative to join their team. This is a hands-on role that combines driving duties with on-site support, with the opportunity to work on residential developments, including apartment complexes and housing projects.

As part of your day-to-day responsibilities, you will be tasked with the delivery and installation of white goods, furniture, fixtures, and fittings to both new and existing developments. Your role will also involve assembling furniture to customer specifications, using tools to assist with the installation of electrical appliances, and ensuring all packaging and materials are disposed of properly to maintain a clean and safe site. Additionally, you will be expected to operate a forklift to move materials efficiently throughout the facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Transport goods safely to designated locations.
  • Support the team when required to assemble furniture to specific requirements.
  • Assist with the installation of electronic appliances.
  • Operate counterbalance forklift to load & unload goods.
  • Keep the work area clean, organised, and compliant with the company’s safety procedures.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members and other departments.

Requirements:

  • Counterbalance forklift required.
  • Manual handling certificate.
  • Safe Pass required.
  • Full EU B license
  • Knowledge of building material is preferred.
  • Installation of electrical appliances a distinct advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiar operating power tools highly advantageous.
