Transport Operations Leader
Opportunity for a strategic and proactive Transport Operations Leader to steer the transportation division of a renowned logistics company in County Laois. This pivotal role focuses on orchestrating efficient and economical transport operations, upholding stringent safety standards, and ensuring seamless service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Forge and nurture partnerships with both local and global transport entities, ensuring seamless operations for inbound and outbound freight.
- Engage with retail and e-commerce clientele to provide stellar transport solutions that meet and exceed expectations.
- Manage and optimise transport-related finances, including the preparation and analysis of profit and loss accounts, conducting pricing assessments, and spearheading the tendering procedure.
- Direct a dedicated Linehaul squad, overseeing performance metrics alongside the administrative personnel, and spearhead initiatives for vehicle fleet management, including leasing, insurance, and statutory compliance.
- Implement innovative routing solutions, ensure the punctuality and efficiency of loading teams, and guarantee data integrity within the operational control systems.
- Champion adherence to internal and external health and safety protocols, effectively manage team engagements, including scheduling, disciplinary actions, and performance reviews.
Requirements
- Extensive managerial background (minimum 3 years) within the domains of transportation, warehousing, or logistics.
- Preferably hold a qualification in transportation, supply chain management, or logistics.
- Adept in utilising Microsoft Office suite alongside bespoke transport and fleet management applications.
- Comprehensive understanding of regulatory standards related to road safety.
- Familiarity with the local geography, possessing a keen safety consciousness.
- Exceptional problem-solving capabilities and experience in managing teams.
