Warehouse Operative

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Warehouse Operative to join a dynamic team in Shannon. The ideal candidate will be a certified forklift operator with experience in both counterbalance and reach forklifts. This role is essential for maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of  warehouse operations, ensuring accurate handling and distribution of goods.

The Warehouse Operative will be responsible for loading and unloading goods, stripping containers, and building pallets, ensuring that all items are handled with care and stored correctly. Additionally, the role involves regular use of the ERP system to update inventory records and processing orders. The successful candidate will also communicate with various departments via email to confirm stock levels and delivery schedules. This position requires a diligent worker who can maintain high standards of safety and organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate counterbalance and reach forklifts to move stock within the warehouse.
  • Load and unload deliveries efficiently, ensuring goods are accounted for and undamaged.
  • Strip containers and build pallets according to company specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory and stock movements using the ERP system.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and other departments via email.
  • Ensure the warehouse is organised and safe at all times.
  • Participate in regular stock audits and inventory checks.
  • Adhere to all company policies and health and safety regulations.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a forklift operator with a valid counterbalance and reach certificate.
  • Familiarity with warehouse procedures and storage methods.
  • Proficient in using ERP systems for stock management.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in sending and managing emails.
  • Commitment to maintaining high safety standards within the workplace.
