Salary: €36,000 - €38,000
Duration: Permanent
Location: Little Island, Cork, Ireland
Schedule: 8-hour shift – 9pm to 6am, Sunday to Thursday.
Warehouse Night Supervisor
Bustling logistics company has an opening for a night shift warehouse supervisor to join their team in little island cork. This role might be an ideal opportunity for a senior warehouse operative or team lead looking to take that next step in their career. You should have a solid track record and tenure in your previous roles an ability to improve processes, an eye for detail, and the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively under the dynamic conditions of night-shift work.
In this role you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless execution of night-time logistics operations. Responsible for organising freight for despatch, maintaining safety and efficiency, and fostering a collaborative team environment,
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and streamline the consolidation process for freight, ensuring optimal preparation for nightly dispatch via Linehaul vehicles.
- Implement strategies for efficient staging of post-sort freight in designated bays, overseeing the smooth handover of critical debriefs to the morning shift.
- Champion adherence to Health & Safety standards, proactively contributing to the warehouse achievement of key performance indicators.
- Facilitate effective communication and problem-solving strategies with both PM and AM Shift Supervisors, aiming for seamless operational continuity.
- Uphold exemplary standards of cleanliness and order within warehouse and operational zones, setting a benchmark for workspace management.
- Guarantee the meticulous handling and scanning of customer goods/freight to significantly reduce misrouting incidents, emphasising safety and efficiency.
- Promote and enforce the consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), cultivating a culture of safety and teamwork.
- Inspire and lead the team, evaluating performance, and devising action plans to uplift or maintain high performance, anchoring a culture of excellence and pride in work.
- Foster an environment of positive morale and work ethic, leading by example to instil a sense of commitment and pride among team members.
Requirements:
- Experience using computer applications such as Excel, email, and various reporting and CRM platforms, facilitating efficient operational management.
- A track record of punctuality and reliability, underscoring the importance of time management and responsibility.
- A comprehensive understanding of Irish geography, with an emphasis on operational areas in Cork, aiding in logistical planning and execution.
- Experience within the logistics sector, evidencing a depth of understanding in freight management and operational logistics.
- Strong capabilities in identifying and resolving problems efficiently, coupled with effective management and motivational skills to lead a diverse team.
- Possession of a Counterbalance & Reach Forklift Certificate is seen as advantageous, though not strictly necessary, highlighting a preference for practical logistics skills
